Who am I?
I’m Josh Salmon, and I’m thrilled to be your partner on the journey to better golf. My clients consistently praise the personalised approach and dedication I bring to each session. With a first-class honours degree in Sports & Exercise Science and ongoing studies toward a Master’s in High-Performance Coaching, I blend top-notch qualifications with a passion for helping golfers of all levels.
Over the past nine years, I’ve had the privilege of coaching at some of the region's finest facilities, including as a senior PGA professional at a top 100 course, being the lead coach for a thriving junior academy and university golf team. My approach is rooted in a deep understanding of the game and the different needs that all people have. I don't believe there is a one right way for us all to play golf but I do believe I can find a way to make you play your best golf.
What sets me apart is the genuine care and tailored strategies I offer. Current clients highlight my commitment to making each lesson engaging and effective, with a focus on individual progress and improvement. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills, my goal is to provide a supportive and encouraging environment to help you achieve your golfing aspirations.
FAQs
how do you get the most ACCURATE data while indoors?
Using Trackman and premium golf balls we can insure that the data we collect is incredibly accurate which means the small changes we make to your golf are measured holding me accountable to improve your performance.
Im new to golf would you be the right coach for me?
With over 10 years of coaching experience, I've helped golfers of all ages and skill levels improve, from beginners to elite players. One of my key strengths is breaking down complex information and tailoring it to suit each individual. Whether you're just starting out or playing at a high level, I can help you improve, but the way I approach it will be customized to your needs and learning style. One of the great benefits of the coaching space I use is its privacy. This is ideal for golfers who may feel anxious about being watched while they’re working on improving their game. It creates a comfortable environment where you can focus on your own journey without any distractions.
Do you offer group lessons?
Yes, I do offer group lessons! My approach is flexible—you’re paying for my time, and you can use it however you like. Just keep in mind that during group sessions, only one golfer can hit at a time in the studio, so there will be some swapping. However, this usually provides a nice break and works really well for most groups!
Will you try to change everything about my swing?
Every golf coach has their own approach, and I believe the best results come from making changes that fit your unique abilities and natural movement. I never ask a golfer to copy someone else's swing because everyone’s body is different. Instead, I focus on understanding your strengths and what you’re capable of. From there, we make adjustments that optimize your swing, making it more effective by playing to your strengths, not someone else's. This leads to lessons that don’t try to overhaul your entire swing but target focused areas that can often be layered up to have huge improvement benefits.
I want to put a long term plan in place to help me reach my goals, can we do this?
I'm incredibly passionate about seeing golf coaching as a journey we take together. I'm here to support you in any way I can, and it’s not just about improving your swing or custom fitting. We can work on things like developing a pre-shot routine, building a practice plan, or even playing at tournament venues together to discuss strategy. I can also connect you with experts in areas outside my scope, like strength and conditioning or rehabilitation, to make sure you have everything you need to succeed. If you want to discuss a performance plan please reach out!
